Elizabeth “Lizzie” Felter
is a Louisiana Native who grew up in Lake Charles, LA. A major part of Lizzie's devotion to her community can be seen by her commitment to educating the children of Alexandria. She has been a part of the Peabody family for ten years, professionally investing in the Alexandria community by teaching fourth grade English Language Arts and Writing. Lizzie teaches with a passion, doing whatever it takes to support her students and their families. She received her Elementary Education degree from Louisiana College, where she graduated magna cum laude, was on the dean’s list, and received several other honors during her college career.
Central Louisiana is the place the Felters chose to call home. They live in the Garden District and have enjoyed restoring their historic home over the last eight years. Lizzie has been married to Alex Felter for ten years. Alex is an illustrator and graphic designer. Together, they have two daughters: Heidi (6) and Nina (3). Lizzie values her family tremendously and has a desire to see her children grow up loving Alexandria!
Lizzie and her family worship together at The Gathering Place Church in Alexandria, where they are intentional to grow in their relationship with God to follow where he leads. Alex and Lizzie assist in the music ministry and host a community group at their home each week. As Lizzie expands her faith, she hopes to contribute to the City Council in such a way that truly serves the community with compassion and care.
